will tulips and daffodils start blooming again

hello,

i read your answers to this question and your article about common reasons for bulbs not reblooming year after year. I cut my leaves back (I now know that is a no-no) last year after they were all done blooming instead of letting them die down and now i have a lot of green coming up but no stalks with flowers. My question is are my bulbs done for life or if I let them die down this year will they produce flowers next year? I don't know if I should dig them up and start over with new bulbs this fall or if they will make it next year if I just leave them alone. This is the 3rd year I have had these bulbs and I cut them back for two years without letting them die down..

thanks for your help!

Doug says you should start all over again with the tulips. The daffodils "might" regrow and reflower but I wouldn't bet the farm on them either for a few years.
