wierd fruit growing on iris

I have iris's I think, Ive had them for years, but after they died one of them dtarted to grow what looks like a bell pepper frpm where the flower used to be, I grow fruits and veg, and I growflowers, Ive never seen this happen before, these should not be growing anything like that.there just plain bulb flowers


Doug says ahhh, let me ask if you've ever heard of seeds? :-) Your iris has generated them - congrats you're about to be a mother. So collect them and plant them as per the instructions for perennial flower seed

And for the record, bulbous plants generate seed - this is how they propagate.
