why won`t my Iris bloom?

why won`t my Iris bloom? They are in well drained soil & were fed plenty of bone meal.

Doug says the main cause of iris non-blooming is lack of light and/or the corms being planted too deeply. If we're talking about the large flowering or German Iris, the corm should be on the surface and the roots buried or the corm should be half buried. Put that corm down an inch or more and you'll never see blooms.

Hope that helps (nice closeup of that Hibiscus btw)_

Iris not blooming - 2nd year
by: Nancy

I redid my iris bed 2 years ago--foillowed all the directions to the T including who much of what to put in the ground before planting. They have not bloomed since, except 1-2 and this year none. What is wrong? Should I have just dropped them on the ground?

thanks in re Irisis
