When to trim allium flowers.

When is it okay to trim back allium.
Do I have to wait until the leaves turn brown.
What about the flowers heads when can I cut them back. When the colour of the flower is gone, and when the flower head is greeen or brown.

Doug says that an allium is like any other bulbous plant. You cut back the leaves when they go yellow -not before. You cut back the flowers when they are done and fading - cut them back as far down the stem as possible without cutting into the leaves.

Do Allium automatically grow each year in the garden or do I need to replant the seeds from the heads? Thank you ~ beginner gardener.
