When to plant a forced hyacinth outdoors

by Rebecca
(Shavertown,Pa)

I was given two beautiful Hyacinth's as a departing gift. They have not failed in delighting and entoxicating my senses.
My question...They are withering and I would like to transplant them outside. When should this be done? It is still too cold at this time. And will they bloom next year?

Doug says they should be planted outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. They will bloom if you've given them enough light to produce new buds for next year. Otherwise, it may take another year in the garden to develop the strength to produce a new bulb. Good luck
