When is fall?

When do you consider late fall in PA. I always wait too long and then the ground freezes...

Doug says that it depends on what you're trying to do. "Late fall" is about a 1-2 weeks before freezeup. Early fall is 8-10 weeks out.

But those time frames are pretty flexible and depend on the season, the gardener, the garden and the plants you're trying to take care of.

Not much help I suspect but that's as close to answering helpfully I can make.
