treatment of potted hyacinth after flowering

how do i treat hyacinth bulbs after flowering ,so they flower the next year indoors?

Doug says that if you have them in pots, you have to give them the same conditions as they would get in the garden. Full sunlight, adequate water and plant food so they grow. You grow them until the leaves go yellow and start dying.

Then you let them sit - dry and cool for a few months. Then 16 weeks before you want them to bloom again, you have to put them in the refrigerator or other place where they'll be cold but not freezing.

Let them sit there (water them if the soil gets bone dry but don't keep them soaked) for the 14-16 weeks and then bring them to the sunlight and warmth.

If you've done all that properly, you should get some blooms 3-4 weeks later.

Or... you could compost them and buy a new pot next spring.
