Q&A Transplanting Ranunculus

My question is... I planted some ranunculus on the street side of our driveway and they were incredible.  Now they are over and I wonder if I can dig them out, put them in my vegetable garden and then plant them on the driveway next spring?

Doug says

You "can" do this but you'll have high death losses.

I"d always suggest you not dig out any bulb before the leaves have stored enough energy into the tubers.

And they'll generally tell you this by starting to turn yellow.
