storing spent tulips with foilage

by Robert

I dug up my tulips and they still have green foilage: can
I store them this way,and remove the foilage in the fall?

Doug says that normally we want to wait till the foliage turns yellow - this gives the bulb a chance to replenish itself and bloom again.

But you have a bunch of greenery and bulbs in-hand so I'd cut off the foliage after it dies (it will)

Storing rotting foliage is a good way to get your bulbs (what will be left of them) to start rotting as well.

Good luck
