Spring bulbs sprouting in fall

by Cathy
(Montezuma, NM)

Hi Doug,
My spring flowering crocus are sprouting now in late August. Will this cause a problem so they don't bloom in Spring. Or, will they bloom now, and bloom again in spring.
Thanks,
Cathy

Doug says that if they're blooming now, you won't get them in the spring. Sorry. :-( Next spring, the healthy bulbs will throw leaves and start producing energy again for rebuilding the blooms and buds. But once that bud is done now - it's done.
