rust spots on achimenes leaves

My achimenes have rust colored spots on the leaves, what causes the spots?

Doug says - this is a pretty disease resistant plant and there isn't much that bothers it. One thing that does happen however is that if the plant is watered with coldish water, it will develop a brown spotting on the leaves. It's like an African Violet (same family) so the same kind of response to leaf wetting takes place here.

It isn't "burning" as some folks believe but rather a leaf response to the cold temperature of the water.

That's my best guess.

If you have it in a container - then do try to water by avoiding the leaves. If in the ground - don't let the automatic sprinklers handle this section of the garden.
