replanting and moving Fritillaria

I would like to change the location for my Fritillarias in my garden.
When is the best time to do that?
What is the best way of doing it so I will not hurt the bulbs?

Doug says, mark the location of the bulb with a stick. Dig it up in the mid-fall and move it then with as many of the roots as you can take with you. It will reroot and be fine for next spring.
