pulled up bulbs

Do spent bulbs that have been pulled up need to be replanted right away, or can I leave them out to gather sun in the leaves and then plant them once the leaves shrivel? A neighbor gave me 200 of assorted huge bloom bulbs.

Doug says that if your neighbor pulled them up right after they finished blooming, then I'd get them in the ground right away.
