Pictures of Tulip Flowers

Here are a few pictures of tulip flowers that I consider to be some of my favorites.

I find when I take pictures of tulips, that I get better shots when I do one of two things. The first is to get quite close so that the individual tulip blossom fills the camera frame. This can either be done by zooming in on a particularly nice flower or (as I more often do) get down on your knees with your camera lens as close to the flower as possible.

Point of View

The second thing that I tend to do is while I'm down on my knees I like to take pictures of groups of tulips from the point of view of a bee. I find when I stand up right and shoot down on tulip groupings that the picture does not represent the mass of flowers that my eye sees. By lowering my camera I am able to create a fuller picture.

Background

Additionally, when it comes to taking pictures of tulip flowers I like to make sure that the background of the picture does not include something quite ugly such as a service pipe or traffic sign. Sometimes I find if I only looking at the flowers I miss the background. In order to get a really good picture, you have the look at the background in the camera while you're taking the picture. So here are a few pictures of tulip flowers that you might enjoy:
