non flowering acidanthera

My acidanthera have masses of green leaves but no flowers. I have planted them in containers to the correct depth/spacing/ conditions etc. What have I done wrong?

Doug says probably nothing. My first guess is that the bulbs were small ones - too small to bloom in their first year. This happens regularly with inexpensive, or discount bulbs.

Grow them - harvest them, store cool and dry and they'll likely bloom next year for you.

i have had the same problem this year. i have just found out that they require a long growing period before flowering (up to 4 months).it was suggested starting them off inside a month before last frosts. then pot and all could be sunk in the garden.
