moving daffodils to a different spot in spring

Hi, I would like to move my tulip and daffodil bulbs to a different part of my garden, can this be done in May?
Thanks; Lee.

Doug says you can move the bulbs as soon as they finish blooming but it is better to wait until the leaves start to yellow. You may lose a few in an early post-flowering move but it can be done if done carefully.

Moving bulbs
by: Diane

I moved my bulbs early this spring as soon as I could tell what they were. I planted them in the fall and some hyacinths got mixed in with daffs, etc. Except for the bulbs I accidently cut with the trowel, they all came up and mostly bloomed. There were only one or two that looked like they were mature enough to bloom and didn't so I think it was a success. I guess if you move them early enough before the roots get too long, it works. I live in PA in zone 6.
