frost protection for seedlings

Do I need to protect daffodils started by seed from the frost the first year outdoors? How soon do I put them out when they have germinated?

Doug says that if you've started them indoors this spring, they will not be cold-tolerant. If they were mine, I'd keep growing them indoors until after all danger of frost and then put them into a nursery bed for the first year. Move them in the fall to where you want them to grow. Should bloom in spring 3.
