There's no question the flower garden pictures above show massed tulips and daffodils in rather large numbers.

You may not be able to create this kind of garden "look" but you can if you think about doing it over time. A package of bulbs a year (I put in several hundred every year now) and within a few years, you'll have a massed showing. I'm using daffodils because the deer don't eat them but you can use just about any bulb you like to create this kind of garden design.

On the other hand...

You may not have the space to design a huge swatch of flower bulbs but do congregate your bulbs into patches of color for maximum effect. Do not spread them too thinly - one here, one there. The larger the clump the more the garden impact.

So either have fewer clumps or get more bulbs.

In any case, plant in the fall for spring displays.
