bulbs are sprouting in fall

My daffodils are sprouting now (october in Maryland). Last year I had full grow leaves at Thanksgiving and never any flowers. What should I do? I so much want the flowers to bloom in spring!

Doug says that it sounds as if you're planting them way too early in the fall.

Only plant daffodils 6-8 weeks before your winter sets in. If these are remnants from last year, then the warming seasons has them totally confused. Not much you can do now except hope you get flowers this fall or winter comes early and they go dormant again.
