Bending leaves over

Can you bend the leaves over and secure with a rubber band, as we do for tulips, on daffodils without interfering in the transfer of nutrients to the bulb?

Doug says you really can't do it with tulips either if you want your tulips to be happy. Glad to get that little bit of folklore out of the way. :-)

I won't even go into what I think a bunch of plants in the garden all tied up with rubber bands does to the look of the garden. Hostages to the great annual invasion! :-)
