Agapanthus - in doors, over winter.

by Carole Bryce

I am trying to over-winter Agapanthus in Regina, Sask. I have not watered the plants since late Sepember. One set bloomed, and died back. I cut the dead leaves off. This plant is now putting out new leaves, while the other that didn't bloom is still in full foliage with some yellowing of one leaf at a time. The house temperature is around 15c at night and the plants are in a north facing room. What should I do to ensure they last until put outside next spring?

Doug says you might want to read the article here about growing them indoors. :-)

Agapanthus over the winter
by: Peter Oliver

Am looking for advice. I planted 4 agapanthus outside this spring in Bancroft, Ontario and I have no idea how to look after them until next spring. I was going to experiment with leaving 2 outside, mounded up and taking 2 and storing them in a cool cellar.
Any advice would be appreciated.
