About sprouting of tulips

by Smith P
(kennett square, PA, USA)

WE've planted 22 tulips each individually 4in apart and 6in deep in our garden in the greater philly region around october 2009. and now in jan 2010 we still dont see any sign of a sprout coming up.
Is this normal , if not what should we do next?
Do we need to water the area daily and is there any other care?
After planting we never watered b'coz it used to rain once/twice every week for the first 1-2 months.

Doug says - take a deep breath. Go back to the kitchen, pour yourself a good drink. Then wait until spring. :-)

Relax.

You won't see tulips until spring really hits - and you don't have to do a darn thing to the bulbs. They're fine, well and truly asleep and waiting for the soil to warm up.

okay we'll wait till spring and watch the tulips bloom.
once after the bloom is over, what size do we need to cut them down to have them healthy for next year
